Caran d’Ache, the Geneva maison de haute écriture, has combined its expertise with French crystal maker and jeweller Lalique to create a limited-edition crystal pen. For this new collaboration precious materials such as blackened gold, rhodium-coated silver and diamonds have been brought together to create three original styles of writing instrument that connect art and life with timeless elegance – the Black Crystal, White Crystal and Crystal and Diamond collection.

The pens are coated with a sprinkle of ceramic ‘water’ droplets which add extra comfort when writing and also reflect the artistry of the two manufacturers. The design is completed by an iconic Lalique crystal cabochon which is satin-brushed so that it plays subtle games with light. For added glamour, a cascade of diamonds adorns the base of the Crystal and Diamond edition.

Both the Black Crystal and White Crystal editions comprise 999 fountain pens and 999 roller pens while the Crystal and Diamond edition is limited to just 18 fountain pens. To accompany the latter prestigious edition, Lalique has designed a special ink bottle that comes in a beautifully lacquered box.
