Chopard presents exceptional novelties at Baselworld 2015
Chopard has unveiled a selection of exceptional novelties at Baselworld 2015, the world’s
largest watch and jewellery show. The Khimji’s Watches team was present at the event as
the sole representative of Chopard in Oman.
Mr. Madhursinh Jesrani, General Manager, Khimji’s Watches comments: “Baselworld was a
great experience and we could witness the launch of many new Chopard classics. What is
noteworthy about these novelties is that they combine 150-year old Chopard watchmaking
traditions with modern technology. Under the impulse of the Scheufele family, Chopard’s
novelties embody their passion for excellence and audacity”.
At Baselworld, Chopard has launched the new Mille Miglia GTS (for Grand Turismo Sport)
collection. This collection composed of three models (Automatic, Power Control and
Chrono) sees the introduction of a Chopard movement for the first time. The Automatic and
Power Control models have been equipped with a Chopard movement from the workshops
of Fleurier Ebauches. With a 60-hour power reserve and certified by the Swiss Official
Chronometer Testing Institute, they meet all the quality demands of the Mille Miglia
collection and are dedicated to drivers who combine a competitive spirit with distinctive
Chopard’s famous Happy Sport collection has been further enriched with the Happy Sport
“Mini” Automatic, which has a smaller, elegant 30mm dial but the same self-winding
movement that was introduced in 2013 with the 36mm model. This new timepiece is surely
an accomplishment on both aesthetic and technical level. In steel, rose gold or two-tone, on
a leather strap or metal bracelet, polished or partially set with diamonds, the Happy Sport
30mm Automatic is versatile to cater to each woman’s personal style. Its joaillerie version,
in 18ct rose or white gold fully set with diamonds comes with a mother-of-pearl dial.
The other new creations at Baselworld 2015 included the L.U.C XPS Fairmined and exquisite
pieces from the Green Carpet High Jewellery collection. These new collections stem from
the company’s commitment to The Journey to Sustainable Luxury and increasing the use of
ethical gold in its creations. In fact at Baselworld 2015, Chopard deepens its commitment to
the Journey with the support of a new gold mine in Bolivia – the 15 de Agosto Cooperative.
“Chopard is the world’s first watch and luxury jewellery company to support and enable
gold mining communities to reach Fairmined certification. This ensures that small scale
miners are extracting gold in a responsible manner, treating workers and the environment
fairly and receiving a premium on top of the price they receive for the gold to re-invest into
their communities. We feel this is a great gesture and we are proud to be associated with
this responsible brand”, Mr. Jesrani adds.
