Cartier’s shaped watches have made their mark on history. And now, elegance is redefined with
the latest men’s collection – Drive de Cartier – introduced at SIHH 2016 in Geneva.
The Drive de Cartier collection has all the Cartier design codes: guilloché inner dial, railroad
chapter ring, Roman numerals, highly defined proportions and an element of fine watchmaking
mechanics. Its cushion-shaped case is the latest creation designed to reinvigorate the brand’s
longstanding tradition of shaped watches.
Aside from the elegant case shape, two outstanding features place the Drive de Cartier
definitively in the category of elegant dress watches: the slim tapered profile that makes it look
like an ultra-slim watch, even though it is a fairly standard 11.5 mm thick; and the pattern of
the guilloché center, which is uniquely repeated on the outside of the chapter ring, adds
elegance.
The Drive de Cartier watch comes in steel or rose gold paired with either white or gray dials. Its
other specifications are – octagonal crown set with a faceted synthetic spinel or a faceted
sapphire, Roman numerals, polished leaf-shaped second hand, polished sword-shaped hour
and minute hands, Sapphire crystal, Black/ gray semi-matte alligator skin strap, 18 mm double
adjustable folding buckle, Calendar aperture at 3 o’clock, small seconds counter at 6 o’clock,
sapphire case back and Water-resistant to 3 bar (approx. 30 meters/100 feet).
The sleek lines of this cushion-shaped watch that create a truly stylish piece are brought to life
by the Maison Manufacture movement 1904 MC.
