Mikimoto launches new Kaguwashi Bamboo Collection

Mikimoto, the world-renowned originator of cultured pearls, has introduced the latest addition to the World of Creativity series – Kaguwashi Bamboo. Kaguwashi, means both ‘beautiful’ and ‘fragrant’ in Japanese and perfectly describes the essence of a very special collection. Incorporating traditional Japanese shapes into modern jewellery design, these elegant pieces express a calm, quiet beauty. The new three-piece collection is inspired by Japanese traditional bamboo wares featuring precious Akoya cultured pearls and diamonds enveloped by a protective 18K yellow gold bamboo cage design. Matching earrings and ring complete a most unique set. Mr. Madhursinh Jesrani, General Manager, Khimji’s Watches – the sole representatives of Mikimoto in Oman – comments: “This new collection Kaguwashi underscores the enduring legacy of the company’s innovative founder, Kokichi Mikimoto, whose life-long goal was to adorn the necks of all the women of the world with pearls. That legacy is on prominent display in all of Mikimoto pieces that embody an indelible timelessness and elegance. They redefine beauty by pushing the boundaries of exceptional quality and design. At Khimji’s Watches, we proudly house a repertoire of cultured pearl jewellery from Mikimoto”. Mikimoto is the world-renowned Japanese empire founded by Kokichi Mikimoto ‘The Pearl King’ in 1893. Mikimoto cultured pearls are considered to be the most chic and glamorous gems a woman can own. They exude an aura of mystique, intrigue and rare distinction. From Tokyo to London and New York, Mikimoto’s extraordinary designs continue to enrapture women all over the world. Today, almost all pearls sold worldwide are cultured pearls, cultivated by the same technique that Kokichi Mikimoto invented.
